beautiful portrait - you wouldn't see this in the US - most people here are too prudish and it could even be against the law in some states to breastfeed in public!! weird, huh?
I nursed my babies in the US and had to hide them behind blankets so the "public" wouldn't see what was happening. Such a beautiful way for a mother to show her love for her child by nursing...the best way to feed a baby!
what a contradiction of the Freedom country!
breastfeed is fantastic because is natural, everywhere, even if you have to hide!
Hi, I'm an admin for a group called Breastfeeding rules!, and we'd love to have this added to the group!
gorgeous mama and baby!

i nursed both of my kids in the US until they turned 2 years old, and i was quite indiscreet about it, never covered up, looked like this beautiful mama (with most of the breast exposed) nearly always and hardly ever got even a 2nd glance. actually, i got quite a few "thumbs up" and smiles from folks, and a number of elderly ladies would sit down to tell me how they enjoyed nursing their babies way back when. so it's not true that you can't do this in the USA.
Greeneyedone, it is NOT against the law to breastfeed in public in any state in the USA. Yes, in some parts people are more offended by it than others, but nowhere has anyone the right to tell you to stop. If you can be in a certain place, and children are allowed there, you can absolutely breastfeed there.

That said, I have found it easier to nurse in public in Europe. I also let my kid pee in public in Russia, which is a big nono from what I've seen in the states :).

I do love this photo though; the wild hair and scarf and the cute sleepy baby.
